Coupling Trailers for high volume low weight commodity transportation

With the high cost of transport high volume commodity transportation is becoming major issue and leading to unnecessary compacting of these commodities. The use of plastic crates is not taken up as use of crates reduces the volume per vehicle. As a solution suitable trailer to be fixed to the existing vehicle is been developed by Dutch Lanka Trailers Manufacturers (Pvt) Ltd on the request of NAC. The estimate and drawing are expected by middle of September.

It is envisaged that these trailers could be coupled with “Issuzu elf / demo batta” type of vehicle and would be able to increase volumes in transportation of fruits and vegetables, Coconut shells and husk / Cinnamon Katta, / Live Poultry / Hay and Straw etc.,
