Our Objectives
• To gain recognition as Sri Lanka’s foremost representative body
for the Food Processing sector
• To bench mark best practices and to motivate the local industry to
achieve Global Standards.
• To create market opportunity by gaining recognition and adding value
to the uses of SL Brand.
• To be a distinct player in the Regions Food Processing Industry.
• To develop a comparatively and advantageous environment for the food
processing industry, increasing return on investment, benefits for stake holders
and down stream producer communities.
• To play an important role in the country’s development effort.
• Facilitate intra regional cooperation and development by playing an
active role within the BIMST-EC Expert Group, for the sector.

Our Activities
• SLFPA Members participating in International Food and Beverage
Fairs.
• Organizing National Level Food and Beverage Events.
• Policy dialogue with the state with a view to obtaining duty concessions
for import of inputs.
• Training and Knowledge Transfer
• Sector development task force participation.
• Taking up Macro and Micro issues of the sector with Public Officials
• Advisory Services.
• Dissemination of information to members, conducting of training programs,
workshops and seminars to enhance the knowledge and practice in the manufacture
of processed foods.
• Marketing and promoting of member’s products.
• Disseminating and sharing knowledge and practices in the manufacture
of processed foods.
• Helping to find new markets for member products, locally and globally.
• Promoting and assisting the undergraduates who follow Food science
and Technology courses.
• Coordinating with similar Associations in other Countries.
• SLFPA participation at the Exporters Forum conducted by the Export
Development Board.
